Movie Review: Crimson Peak

Crimson Peak is a beautifully designed, okay movie.

The sets and colors are vibrant, and some choices they made were really cool (like setting the house over red clay that seeps into the set like blood). The story was decent, but didn’t pay off at the end as many viewers would hope.

And what is Guillermo del Toro’s obsession with weird facial injuries? Just like Pan’s Labyrinth, there’s a moment of injury to the face that might make you squirm.

I’d recommend it to anyone who can see it for free on the movie channels and is looking for a few scares and something to do at night.
